Teaching assistant, with Sergi Ferrer
My role
I was a teaching assistant in this online course, working with Sergi Ferrer.
About the course
A third-year course shared by the UOC’s BAs in International Relations, Sociology and Political Science. 6 ECTS, taught online in Catalan, from February to July 2026.
It is a very practical introduction to data analysis with R and RStudio: no previous knowledge is needed, and there are few equations. Students learn to explore, transform and visualize any dataset they find online, and then to summarize variables and the relationships between them.
- Introduction: why quantitative analysis, getting started with RStudio, R data structures, working with Quarto
- What is a variable? Exploring, transforming and visualizing data
- Summarizing a variable: graphs and univariate measures
- Inferential analysis with a categorical variable
- Inferential analysis with two numerical variables
